Charleston continued....

Although our time away is over, and I have spent a fun filled day with my girls
here's some more from Charleston.....

The last two nights were late ones, so I didn't get to post anything.
Sunday, we spent being tourists, and taking way too many solo shots.....
{too many that I will post the rest of the trip pics later}

This is the only producing tea plantation in North America, so it was pretty cool to visit and learn
about the history and making of their tea.

watching the video tour and sipping some tea...

Inside the factory.....

Outside....

trolley tour that we didn't take....

We are weird and had our own little photo shoot under the trees {and later in Charleston}.
We usually don't take so many solo
shots, and I normally probably wouldn't post so many solo shots, but there were
so many photo opps, we couldn't pass them by. :)

Not sure what she's doing here, but the trees look cool around her...

If you know Laura, you know this is funny....
{I'm sure she's glad I posted this one}

If you know me, you know I'm a dork...not sure what I was doing either....

Lovin' the trees.....

Maybe we could photoshop these together and act like we actually took a picture together.

Back at the car, this guy obviously didn't want to enjoy the plantation as much as we did....

After the plantation, we went to downtown Charleston to take some pics and relax.

just some random pics....mind you, this was the muggiest and nastiest day....
both for the pictures and our hair....

there were countless beautiful window boxes of flowers.....

Strange bumpy road.....the car seriously felt like it was going to fall apart
at any moment.....wonder if this was from pre or post wagon wheel era??

you may recognize Rainbow Row.....

there's something comforting about lush landscapes that have grown over lots of time.....

I would like to have this little path of brick and trees put into my own yard.
I've imagined it many times before.

I loved this wall for some reason.....you could see all the different layers it's had over the years....
and obviously I needed to be in the picture with it....

love this tattered old house and the famous Charleston side porch......
{the cars are always ruining the pictures!}

you know I wanted those shutters.....

love this!  I can't imagine what that little room looks like inside....

we just liked the color combination....

Ok.....so we liked this gate and courtyard and this pic is a result of a lopsided camera on the car
and us laughing for whatever reason....but it looks intended.

We drove up and down countless alleys to try and find the fun painted gates and doors like
I remembered from a past trip, but we had no such luck.

De.Li.Cious fried green tomatoes at Magnolia's....
we didn't enjoy a full course meal there, just an appetizer and dessert....
the prices were a little too swanky for us, but it was worth what we did get to enjoy!

The beautiful Magnolia's Restaurant....
{downtown}

Once again, obviously need to photoshop the pics together.
Some guy did take a pic for us, but I don't think
he really knew how to work a camera.

That was about it for Sunday.....I think the highlight of the day for myself was the reading of maybe 2 or 3 paragraphs from Shepherding a Child's Heart in the car and going off on a 2 or 3 hour conversation....about whatever those 2 or 3 paragraphs spurred on.

So much for reading.....

however, it's awesome to talk and be sharpened by each other.

It makes me so thankful for all the godly friends I have who encourage and challenge me
in so many ways.  Sharing our lives, being transparent and using God's Word to check our lives and encourage one another.....these are the things that define friendship to me.  It's what our time with friends, in whatever we're doing, should be about.

xoxo
