31 Days of quotes...

Y'all.  This is like jumping in with your eyes closed, and I guess hoping you come out on both feet.  or at least land.  or at least stay alive.

It's 10:45 at night on October 1st {and well mercy! it ended up posting after midnight, but technically this is day 1!!  ahem}, the first day of the 31 Days Writing Challenge….and I decide to just do it!

And, here's my reasonings….

So, first, I had read about the 31 days writing series a while back and considered it for all of about one minute. It sounded great, but I didn't think I'd have time to write.

Then, second, I've had writing on my heart a LOT lately and for so many reasons.

Third, my wonderful hubby sent me on a surprise getaway by myself (and Libby, of course!) last weekend for a night to chill in a hotel.  I know, don't be jealous, I'm such a party animal.

Fourth, I was so excited about said getaway because I was finally going to have some time to jump back in to writing!

Fifth, I think I wrote about a paragraph during that stay.  I was scared to start writing.   I just wanted to journal for myself what I've been learning and processing lately, and I don't even know how to backtrack that. I also knew I had said on here I wanted to start sharing my story….and so my hands just wanted to stay away from the keyboard….because really, as much as I want to share it….I don't.  I don't even want to go there. but I do.  {Ohhhhh, the call to be obedient.}

Although I didn't write much then, God did a lot in my heart in my quiet time with Him to prepare me for writing….
contentedness in Him, writing as though I'm writing for Him and not man, writing with a pure heart, etc, etc.

Anyway, sixth, I came across the start of the 31 Days Challenge again tonight and decided to jump in and just do it.  As with most late night delirious decisions, I will probably regret it in the morning!  Or Matt will ask me when he wakes up "what are you thinking??!" Or, I may wake up and be thankful for the motivation and accountability to write! OR, I could end up not doing it!  But, let's pretend that latter one is not an option, Lord willing!

So, finally, I'm supposed to have a topic, and I honestly have no idea of one topic that I would want to continually write about for 31 days!

Yet, with the continuous nudging from the Spirit to be courageous and "do the hard stuff" lately, I just keep thinking of "just do it."  However, in my researching attempt to not jump on Nike's little one liner, I came across some really good quotes….quotes, verses, thoughts that all seem to speak from my heart lately.  So, here's to

pretty creative, huh??! sounds exhilarating, right?!

I know, I know, but I have some little ideas that will hopefully make it worthwhile! and geez, it's midnight and my brain's already asleep, so there you go.

and, well that topic covers a multitude of topics, so hopefully that will leave me in a safe place for writing 31 days straight! and if a busy day comes with no time for writing, hopefully an awesome little quote will find its way on the blog regardless!

See??!?  It doesn't have to be perfect!  Sometimes, you just need to jump in and JUST DO IT!!

and with that being said, I'm reminded of the most appropriate quote from the person, Myquillyn Smith behind the 31 Days writing series and her book The Nesting Place….

"It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."

something I should tell myself countless times a day!

It doesn't have to be perfect to get started, or to just do it!
